WAS AWESOME!
It was just 3 of us from here and the
Scumbags from Virginia Beach, the rest of y'all missed out!
Here is the lowdown:
Dirt, Ray and I split out from E-City around 6am on Friday. Ray brought his son Mitchell along with a Jeep and a trailer just in case there were any probs. The fog was THICK and the lack of daylight that early didn't help! We stopped in WIlliamston to top off fuel and get some coffee. It was a bit chilly and we were wet as though it had been raining.
Once we were warmed up, we split for Rocky Mount. I thought I picked up a vibration Just passed Trboro and pulled over to investigate. I couldn't find anything wrong, but did notice that my bolt in the kicker arm was MIA. So I started the bike and tossed the arm in the Jeep. LOL.
We got to Rocky Mount and pulled into the starting point to see the place already packed with some rad 2-wheeled death machines! We went to the Diner to check i and buy some swag and raffle tickets for the givaways, then ate some grub before I went to the Harley™ dealer to find a bolt for my kicker.
We hit the road fairly promptly and made it past Tarboro, NC before the first breakdown. It was a girl from VA (Brandy?) on a Kawasaki that had locked up. They were gonna strip t down and leave it, but Death Science Tim pulled up and had them toss it in his trailer so we could get back on the road.
The first gas stop was in Robersonville, NC. Was a nice group there already that had kept rolling when ole girls bike shit along with the bikes that were waved past while we were on the side of 64. I had a sticky throttle, so we lubed it up and were good to go!
Back on the road! Made it to Plymouth for another Gas stop. got a chance to look at some more scooters before getting back on the road!
Next Gas stop was in Columbia. The station was PACKED with bikes! I tightened my chain and motor mount bolts that had come loose (remember that vibration), and we hit the road again!

We rode through the Alligator River wildlife refuge and over the river. There was a bike broke on the bridge and Mitchell and Ray stopped to load them up on the trailer. Dirt and I stopped at the turn off towards Hatteras to make sure people knew where to go and to wait for Ray and Mitchell. Good thing, too....a couple bikes were headed right passed towards Kitty Hawk!
Dirt
Once the boys caught up, we were on the way to the Hot Tuna in Rodanthe. This was the Rendezvous spot from Rocky Mount. There was a bike on the side of the road needing Gas, so Mitchell hooked them up from the can Ray filled on the trailer. Once we got to the Liberty Gas Station/Hot Tuna, it was nice to see the lot full again!
The Scumbags showed up shortly after and we grabbed some food and charcoal (and beer, coffee, and water) to take to the campground. We tossed the goods in the Jeep and loaded a NSTC Bike on the trailer due to a broke masterlink. We took him down to Island choppers in Buxton.
Once he was back up and running with a new chain and link, we were Ferry bound! While waiting on the Ferry, Dirt and I discovered Gringos Tacos and grabbed some Burritos...that were Damn good!
After making Landfall it was straight to the campground! Man, I cannot explain how serene this island is! It was so peaceful! We set up camp and just chilled out cooking some food and enjoying beverages of choice.
After the dark came in, the beach fire was lit, and they had the final raffle before Wilmington. None of us hit with out tickets, so we gave them all to a guy from Baltimore that was riding alone. Hope he won some great shit! Dirt, Ray, Mitchell, and I retired early after that.
In the morning I woke up to a pretty awesome view of the sunset coming up behind Rays bike! I pretty much stayed up to watch the sit come up, then we started some coffee!
That was where the Revenge Run was over for us. The Run went on to hit the ferry to Cedar Island and then Wilmington, where we were headed to Swan Quarter and back home. So we packed up camp and headed into the village for some breakfast and to check out the place.
Once on the Ferry, we all got settled in. There were a couple of ladies sunbathing on the upper deck, so that caught a bit of attention...LOL...Seemed like we each tried to catch some ZZZ's at some point in time.
Once off the ferry we stopped for Gas....4.57/gallon- cash only- for 87 octane!!! Holy SHIT! I got a bare minimum to get me to the next town where we would all fill up.
Next stop wasn't until my front tire decided to let go! It started to shimmy in a curve and once I straightened up, I directed right to the sand! We loaded up and I was now caging it! At least I picked a scenic place to break! Too bad it smelled horrendous due to rotting fish!
We got back under way and the Jeep brakes started pulling in Kitty Hawk. I guess it didn't like all the stop-n-go. Phil J hooked us up since we were near his place bringing us some tools we didnt have.
We got the Jeep back on the road and Ray decided to drive in case anything went wrong. This meant I got to ride his bike the rest of the way back to the house!
We had a blast of a time! Next year hopefully I can get the full run in! Been tryin for the last 3 years, maybe 4th will be it! Either way, RR3 Patch was added to the Cut next to the others (obviously after this photo was taken)!
